Water slides, etc.

First, a little video of Liza Jane fearlessly going down the water slide at K-Kauai. She has become so brave over the past year. I love seeing her try new things and enjoy them! A constant reminder that leaving our comfort zone sometimes seems scary, but usually helps us cling more tightly to Christ and comes with a fantastic reward!

Also, a funny story for you. Yesterday Ben and I were talking in his office when we heard Chaz cry out from the family room. As I began walking towards him Liza Jane says, "I'll go to my room."
I immediately said, "What did you do?"
"Nothing."
"Then why are you going to your room?"
"I hit Chazzie."
And off to her room she went to await a "talk" with Mommy (which went very well since she so easily admitted her fault).

Wow! Her response was pretty funny, but also showed me she is beginning to have a conscience. Yay! What an important milestone.

Chaz has also been showing his little personality lately. Last week he and I spent several days with my best friends from college. Catherine's son, Ethan, is 4 months older than Chaz and they really became buddies. Right before we left Cat's husband, Chris, was helping us get our suitcases loaded and Ethan was outside with him. Now, Ethan is the oldest of two boys and not the overly-affectionate type, while Chaz is very affectionate. I told Chaz it was time to give Ethan a kiss and a hug good-bye. Chris said, "Oh, Ethan, Chaz wants to give you a hug." Chaz walked up to Ethan and gave him a big bear hug and then puckered his lips and leaned in. Chris said, "Oh, oh Ethan, Chaz wants to give you a kiss on the cheek." But, you know, that's not Chaz's style. Chaz stuck out those big ol' lips and gave Ethan a wet one right on the mouth. I lost it. Poor guys. Chris and Ethan didn't know what had hit them!

I'm so proud of Liza Jane! All of your patient, loving guidance is paying off!! She and Chazzie are so lucky to have such a great mommy (and daddy who can catch so well!). I can't wait to see both precious babies soon. Love you all!
